How can we not glorify Panaghia and the Life-giving Trinity, and how can we not regard ourselves as blessed for we became worthy, for the fourth consecutive year, to come again to the holy soil of the Nurse Halkian School to celebrate the feast day of the Holy Spirit and be re-baptized in the life-bringing spring water that nourished our youth, and continues to rejuvenate our lives on the threshold of old age? This time again, the experiences we had were inimitable indeed; inside the chapel of Holy Trinity, in the corridors, in the dormitories, in the blooming gardens of the School, during our walks on other islands we visited and during our visits to the martyred Queen of cities, the emotions we felt brought us to tears.
“Blessed be your Name Christ, our Lord” Who blessed us and made us worthy to make our pilgrimage visit, a tradition by now, to the Nurse School for the third consecutive year on the occasion of the Feast Day of the Holy Trinity. A pilgrimage, which filled our hearts with double joy, for it combined a double celebration: the feast day of the small church of the Halkian School and the venerable Name Day of His All Holiness, our Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, beloved and valuable fraternity Brother.
The HTSG Association held an annual pilgrimage visit to the Nurse School for a second time between June 10 and 20, 2008, on the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Trinity.
The significant increase in the number of participating fraternity brothers (12 past year, 20 this year) is indicative of the positive effect that the initiative of the Board had, with the blessing of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who introduced an annual procession of all the brothers from around the world towards the hill of Hope, on the day of the festival of the small church of our School, as in the days of Patriarch Athinagoras of blessed memory.
In the context of the paschal meeting of fraternity brothers, a special event was held in honor of the President of the Association Mr. Basil Anagnostopoulos, Professor Emeritus of the Theological School of Halki, on the occasion of his completion of twenty five years as President of the Association, following a decision of the Board; his valuable contribution to the Association and the School were honored.
The General Secretary of the Association Mr. Konstantinos Giokarinis spoke on behalf of the Board and extolled the ministry of many years of Mr. Anagnostopoulos toward the fulfillment of the Association’s goals.
On the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Trinity, a group of members of the Association made a pilgrimage visit to the Halki Theological School from May 25 to 31, 2007.
Unique and unprecedented! In these two words one could condense the holy migration-pilgrimage to the Nurse School by a group of members of the Association, led by its President, and respected Professor Basil Anagnostopoulos. It is true that starting on that visit-stay to the Halkian Mother, we were all hoping for memories and emotions of the old days, and the revival of fruitful experiences that sealed our lives and gave meaning to our being during the years of our training on the hill of Hope. But the reality we experienced in those six days, exceeded, indeed, any expectation ... Let us start our travelogue from the beginning.
After the culmination of the festive celebrations on the occasion of the Association’s fifty-year anniversary that took place in the Nurse School in August 2002, the event ended with the formal presentation of the 5th volume of the Scientific Presence of the Association, as well as its entire publishing work. Mr. Dimitrios Palavidis, a fraternity brother and member of the Board of the Association, exhibited his artistic photographs that had as theme the common Nurse Theological School and the fifty years of the Association. The events were hosted in the Hall of Speech and Culture of the Book Arcade.
In the context of the festive celebration of the Association, on October 29, 2002, another exhibit of the publication of the scientific Magazine of the Association “Scientific Presence of the Association of Halki Theologian Graduates”, its Informative Bulletin, and other honorary volumes and Yearbooks of the Association took place in the Book Arcade.
The 50-year anniversary of the HTSG Association was celebrated with exceptional splendor and formality on the hill of Hope of the lovable island of Halki of The Princes Islands. The presence and activity of the Association ensures the continuation, as much as possible, of the history and life of the forcefully silenced Halkian Theological School reinforces the unbreakable bond of its graduates with the same and the Holy Ecumenical Patriarchate.
On May 7, 2001, in the context of the regular paschal meeting of fraternity brothers, a special event took place at the headquarters of the Association in honor of Konstantinos Kallinikos, Professor Emeritus of the Halki Theological School on the occasion of his ninetieth year of age and fifty year anniversary of his appointment as full professor of the Halki Theological School.
The General Secretary of the Association, Mr. Konstantinos Giokarinis, was the keynote speaker on behalf of the Association’s members. He talked at length about the scientific course and valuable offering of Konstantinos Kallinikos both to the School and the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In conclusion, he expressed the grateful thanksgiving of his students for his contribution to their scientific training, but also his paternal concern that extended even after their graduation.
